I have been involved with learning disabilities for over 35 years, as a practitioner, teacher and parent/carer. For the last three years I have been a member of Conwy Connect, and currently sit on the Moving on Solutions group. My main focus at present is to help to re-establish social, health and well-being activities which were withdrawn by Social Services earlier this year. To this end I, with support from other parents, will be launching the New Picasso Friendship in September, with some start-up funding from the MOS group. In the coming year I will be interested and hopefully involved with the Council-led review of the present services for people with learning disabilities.
