Growing Stronger

On Thursday, 25 February, people gathered together to talk about their epxeriences of health care. An invited audience of service users, parents, carers and professionals spent the day looking at what worked well and what didn't. The afternoon was spent thinking of ideas to help improve health services for people with a learing disability. A report will be produced soon. For more information on health services or to discuss your experience please contact our office.

Friendship Group ends in March 2010

The Friendship Group continues to grow from strength to strength and its numbers are now double what was projected when the Group first was commissioned nearly 2 years ago so it is with much sadness that we have to report that as from April 2010 the group will end. We are surprised as everyone else at the success of the group but from the beginning we were aware that the funding would be for 2 years only.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the Friendship Group members for their support and involvement in this valuable piece of work. At the meeting people spoke about their experiences being a member and hopes for the future of the Friendship Group.

On the Move.....

Well we finally have received the answer we were waiting for, which was YES. Conwy Connect have been offered the use of the office space located on the groundfloor of Rivieres Avenue. We will hopefully be moving sometime in April. Just think - no more stairs to climb.

Closing the Gap

We recently completed a consultation on an action plan from Conwy County Borough Council's Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Stakeholder Learning Disability Team for people with autism. A report from the 3 days is being sent to those who attended for comments and feedback. There will be a follow up consultation sometime in the early new year. Listen out for updates on this.
