Friendship Group News

On the 21st May 2016 The Friendship group met for a stroll down the beach, they walked from Porth Eiras to Rhos on Sea, then had ice cream at Fortes. A super excellent day was had by all.

On Friday the 29th April 2016, we launched the Stay up late campaign at the Moving on Solutions Karaoke night. A great night was had by all, with many people taking to the stage to sing their favorite songs. Shell gave a great speech highlighting the need to have choice in your support hours to allow a full and meaningful social life.

Shell said:

I would like to say a few words regarding the stay up late campaign. Conwy Connect’s members have a choice to do the things they are interested in, for example, attending social activities which could involve staying up late and having to leave early is frustrating. Let us be Inspired by working together with our support workers, family, friends, to be able to stay to the end of our social activities. Lets make this happen.

Here are a few photos from the evening

One Response to Friendship Group

  1. Hi Shell
I run Pigtown Theatre CIC based in Mochdre. We are starting a Community Theatre Company in partnership with Conwy Health and Wellbeing beginning next Tuesday, 12th April which may be of interest to some of your service users or carers. I have an English and Welsh poster with all the info on which I can send you by email.
We also, independently from the above, have created a lot of work with people who have learning disabilities through the charities Contact a Family and Hijinx Theatre. If you would like more information about the work we do and how me might offer drama activities for you then please get in touch.
Our website is currently under construction, although still view-able, and our communities page doesn’t have a lot of detail. I would be happy to send you some photos and a short film which documents some of our work in this area.
I look forward to hearing from you
    Vickie Fleming
